Barangay Cherry Mobile
Changing the Country, One Community at a Time
Every single day, we wake up to a world of poverty and inequality. It is a given fact. We see people on the streets with no shelter and no food. We see how lack of or indirect access to health facilities has caused the lives of many. We see nature changing before us—the once luscious green field has now turned to a dry, barren land. Many talents, lives and resources are wasted because only a few cares. Ask yourself, “Do you care?” Have you done something meaningful for your community?
Cherry Mobile, in its two years in the industry, has been changing the way Filipinos communicate. We bring and connect friends and families together, anytime, anywhere. Today, Cherry Mobile wants to take a leap further by creating a positive change in poor communities. We want to give back to the country that we serve by helping poor communities all over the Philippines. We believe that each Filipino has a duty to take care of their communities as well as their ka-barangays.
As our way of empowering Filipinos who want to reach out to their communities, we are getting concerned citizens to determine the most pressing challenges in their locality and send in their petitions to Cherry Mobile as wishes or requests for support.
Through Barangay Cherry Mobile, which will be the social development arm of the company, we want to work hand-in-hand with concerned individuals to address poverty in our country. Barangay Cherry Mobile will be the nationwide direct giving program of Cosmic Technologies, Inc. to reach out to poor and underserved communities in the Philippines.
We call on our fellow Filipinos - especially our consumers, to participate in nation building, help us reach out to broader communities and provide additional scope and impact. We believe in doing more to support our communities in unique and bold ways that move beyond philanthropy to create a profound and lasting improvement in the lives of those we serve.

How It Works:
Barangay Cherry Mobile aims to generate charity giving ideas from the people who best know the community issues and needs in their local communities.
We invite every Filipino to share their community story, tell us what kind of help their locality needs and why they deserve to be funded
Every month, starting September, Cherry Mobile will be funding amazing ideas that will change the country, one community at a time. We, at Cherry Mobile, will make your wishes happen. Change our country today. Send in your stories.
Program Components
- Munting Pangarap – Idea generation, granting wishes and petitions filed focused on Community Improvement, Education, Health, and the Environment.
- Katipunan ng Kabataan - the youth as vital voices for change and role models who can move into action, making life better for their communities. We want to empower the young people to contribute to their communities in meaningful ways; give them an opportunity to improve the quality of life in their respective localities.
- Kapitbahay – helping nearby barangays, not necessarily yours, but underserved communities in your locality.
- Sangguniang Barangay – the grants committee from Cherry Mobile headed by the Kabesa de Barangay (Chief Executive Officer).
How to Apply
Eligibility. You must be a Kapitbahay or a Katipunan ng Kabataan to be eligible to file for a petition or request for help for your barangay. Charitable, faith-based non-profit organizations may also apply provided that their proposed project is for the benefit of the community as a whole rather than just the members of their congregation or organization.
Make a Wish by Filing a Petition. All petitioners must send in their wishes to Cherry Mobile by sending an e-mail to barangay@cherrymobile.com.ph . They must state in their letters the reason for their request and send in photos that will support their story. Cherry Mobile will entertain one e-mail per individual or organization in a twelve-month period.
Deadlines. There is no deadline for submitting a request. Corporate Communications shall review the petitions on an on-going basis and shall respond within two weeks of receiving the petition. Cherry Mobile will send an e-mail message either declining the request or inviting the petitioner to submit support documents for further consideration. In some cases, a phone conference or site visit may be scheduled as part of the review process. The Sangguniang Barangay is the governing body that considers the requests that have been recommended by the staff for review.
