Tips and Tricks | How to Use a Dongle in your Cherry Pad

CHERRY Pad Dongle use:

For SMART Postpaid or Prepaid

  1. Connect Broadband Dongle to the Cherry PAD via USB slot. (Note: Damaged Udisk notification will appear. It is normal; it is detecting a TF card in the dongle.)
  2. Make sure that the dongle to be used is included in the dongle support list. (Please see Dongle Support List).
  3. Open “Menu” then select “3G Settings”.
  4. Select “Add 3G network”.
  5. Enter “Name, Device number, and APN”. (Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank.)
  • For “Name” input “Smart”, and then tap “Next”.
  • For “Device number” input “*99#”, then tap “Next”.
  • For “APN”, input “internet”, and then tap “Next”.
  • Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank. Tap “Next”.
  1. Select “Connect”.
  2. Cherry Pad will establish network connection. The prompt “Connecting…” will appear.
  3. Once connected, 3G network indicator will appear on the notification bar and the word “Connect” will appear at the network name.

 

For GLOBE Postpaid

  1. Connect Broadband Dongle to the Cherry PAD via USB slot. (Note: Damaged Udisk notification will appear. It is normal; it is detecting a TF card in the dongle.)
  2. Make sure that the dongle to be used is included in the dongle support list. (Please see Dongle Support List).
  3. Open “Menu” then select “3G Settings”.
  4. Select “Add 3G network”.
  5. Enter “Name, Device number, and APN”. (Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank.)
  • For “Name” input “Globe”, and then tap “Next”.
  • For “Device number” input “*99#”, then tap “Next”.
  • For “APN”, input “internet.globe.com.ph”, and then tap “Next”.
  • Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank. Tap “Next”.
  1. Select “Connect”.
  2. Cherry Pad will establish network connection. The prompt “Connecting…” will appear.
  3. Once connected 3G network indicator will appear on the notification bar and the word “Connect” will appear at the network name.

 

For GLOBE Prepaid

  3. Open “Menu” then select “3G Settings”.
  4. Select “Add 3G network”.
  5. Enter “Name, Device number, and APN”. (Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank.)
  • For “Name” input “Globe”, and then tap “Next”.
  • For “Device number” input “*99#”, then tap “Next”.
  • For “APN”, input “http.globe.com.ph”, and then tap “Next”.
  • Note: username and password are optional may leave it blank. Tap “Next”.
  1. Select “Connect”.
  2. Cherry Pad will establish network connection. The prompt “Connecting…” will appear.
  3. Once connected 3G network indicator will appear on the notification bar and the word “Connect” will appear at the network name.

 

For SUN Postpaid

  1. Connect Broadband Dongle to the Cherry PAD via USB slot. (Note: Damaged Udisk notification will appear. It is normal; it is detecting a TF card in the dongle.)
  2. Make sure that the dongle to be used is included in the dongle support list. (Please see Dongle Support List).
  3. Open “Menu” then select “3G Settings”.
  4. Select “Add 3G network”.
  5. Enter “Name, Device number, and APN”. (Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank.)
  • For “Name” input “Globe”, and then tap “Next”.
  • For “Device number” input “*99#”, then tap “Next”.
  • For “APN”, input “fbband”, and then tap “Next”.
  • Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank. Tap “Next”.
  1. Select “Connect”.
  2. Cherry Pad will establish network connection. The prompt “Connecting…” will appear.
  3. Once connected 3G network indicator will appear on the notification bar and the word “Connect” will appear at the network name.

 

For SUN Prepaid

  1. Connect Broadband Dongle to the Cherry PAD via USB slot. (Note: Damaged Udisk notification will appear. It is normal; it is detecting a TF card in the dongle.)
  2. Make sure that the dongle to be used  is included in the dongle support list. (Please see Dongle Support List).
  3. Open “Menu” then select “3G Settings”.
  4. Select “Add 3G network”.
  5. Enter “Name, Device number, and APN”. (Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank.)
  • For “Name” input “Globe”, and then tap “Next”.
  • For “Device number” input “*99#”, then tap “Next”.
  • For “APN”, input “minternet”, and then tap “Next”.
  • Note: username and password are optional. You may leave it blank. Tap “Next”.
  1. Select “Connect”.
  2. Cherry Pad will establish network connection. The prompt “Connecting…” will appear.
  3. Once connected 3G network indicator will appear on the notification bar and the word “Connect” will appear at the network name.
